Digital Preservation Policy

Sirte University Scientific Journal is committed to keeping its published articles available to readers in the long term, even if the journal's website ceases to operate or changes.

Preservation in the PKP network

The journal deposits its published issues in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which is based on LOCKSS technology. The network keeps copies of the journal's content in multiple academic libraries around the world and checks their integrity regularly. Should the journal's website cease to operate permanently, the preserved articles are made available to readers through the network.

Each new issue is deposited automatically after publication.

Backups

Sirte University keeps regular backups of the journal's website, database and article files.

Metadata access

Article metadata is available for automated harvesting through the OAI-PMH protocol, so that databases and repositories can index it.

Author archiving

Authors may archive their published articles on personal websites and institutional repositories, in line with the Self-Archiving Policy.
