Authorship and Contribution Policy
This policy defines who qualifies as an author of Sirte University Scientific Journal and how changes to the author list are handled.
Authorship criteria
An author is a person who made a substantial contribution to the conception, design, data collection or analysis of the work; took part in drafting it or revising it critically for important intellectual content; approved the final version; and accepts accountability for the accuracy of the work. The journal follows the ICMJE recommendations.
Corresponding author
The corresponding author handles all communication with the journal during review and publication, and confirms that all authors have seen and approved the submitted version.
Changes to authorship
Adding, removing or reordering authors after submission requires a written request from the corresponding author through the platform, stating the reason and carrying the agreement of all authors. The Editor-in-Chief decides on the request. Requests must be made before the manuscript is accepted.
Artificial intelligence
Artificial intelligence cannot be an author and cannot take responsibility for the work. Any use must be disclosed under the Artificial Intelligence Policy.
Contributions and honorary authorship
Gift or honorary authorship is not accepted. People who do not meet the criteria are named in the acknowledgements. The role of each author is stated using the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT).
Breaches
Allegations of ghost or false authorship are handled under the Publication Ethics page and COPE guidance.
