Appeals and Complaints

The journal handles appeals and complaints fairly and promptly, following the COPE flowcharts.

Appealing an editorial decision

  1. Authors submit a written appeal through the platform within 30 days of the decision, stating their scientific reasons.
  2. The appeal is considered by an Editorial Board member who was not involved in the original decision; the manuscript may be sent to an additional reviewer.
  3. Authors are informed of the outcome within 30 days; the decision on appeal is final.

Complaints

Complaints about editorial or review procedures or publication ethics are received at susj@su.edu.ly and answered within 30 days. Every complaint is treated confidentially, and no action is taken before the party concerned has been heard.

Corrections and retractions

  • Erratum: for an error made by the journal during production or publication.
  • Corrigendum: for a significant author error that does not change the results.
  • Expression of concern: when a serious concern is under investigation.
  • Retraction: when plagiarism, fabrication, duplicate publication or unreliable results are established.

Every notice is published and linked to the original article; retracted articles are not removed but clearly marked, with the reason stated. See also the Plagiarism and Retraction Policy.
