Digital Preservation Policy

The Faculty of Education Scientific Journal ensures that its published articles remain available to readers in the long term, even if the journal website stops or changes.

Current preservation

Backups: Sirte University keeps regular backups of the journal website, its database and article files.
Legal deposit: the journal is deposited with the National Library, Benghazi, Libya, under deposit number 1315/2021.
Metadata access: article metadata are available for harvesting through OAI-PMH, so databases and repositories can index them.
Persistent identifiers: every article carries a DOI with Sirte University's prefix 10.37375, which continues to resolve to the article even if the website address changes.

Preservation network

The journal is working to deposit its published issues in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), based on LOCKSS, which keeps copies of the content in several academic libraries and makes it available to readers if the journal website closes permanently. This page will be updated when deposit is complete.
