Authorship and Contribution Policy
This policy defines who qualifies as an author in the Faculty of Education Scientific Journal and how changes to the author list are handled.
Authorship criteria
An author is someone who meets all of the following:
- Made a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the work, or to the acquisition, analysis or interpretation of its data.
- Drafted the manuscript or revised it critically for important intellectual content.
- Approved the final version submitted for publication.
- Takes responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the work.
Contribution statement
Every multi-author article includes a short statement of each author's role, following the CRediT contributor roles taxonomy, such as conceptualisation, methodology, data collection, analysis, writing and review. Contributors who do not meet the criteria are thanked in the acknowledgements, with the nature of their contribution.
Corresponding author
The corresponding author communicates with the journal throughout review and publication, and ensures that all authors have seen and approved the submitted version. The corresponding author, and all co-authors, are encouraged to have an ORCID iD.
Changes to authorship
Adding, removing or reordering authors after submission is accepted only on a written request from the corresponding author through the platform, stating the reason and carrying the agreement of all authors. The Editor-in-Chief decides on the request, and no change is accepted after the manuscript has been accepted for publication.
Gift authorship and artificial intelligence
Gift, honorary and ghost authorship are not accepted. Artificial intelligence tools cannot be authors, and their use is disclosed under the Artificial Intelligence Policy.
Breaches
Allegations of false or missing authorship are handled under the Publication and Research Ethics policy and COPE guidance.
