Plagiarism and Retraction Policy
The Faculty of Education Scientific Journal is committed to academic integrity and does not accept plagiarism in any form, including self-plagiarism and republishing previously published findings without citation.
Similarity check
Every submitted manuscript is checked with Turnitin before review. The similarity index is calculated excluding the reference list and properly cited quotations; the maximum accepted is 25%, with no more than 5% from a single source. The percentage alone is not a verdict: the editor reviews the similarity report to judge the nature of the matching passages.
- A manuscript above the limit is not sent for review; it is returned to the author with the similarity report, and may be revised and resubmitted once.
- Where text, ideas or data appear to have been copied without citation, the editorial board contacts the author for an explanation before taking any action.
Plagiarism established before publication
- The manuscript is rejected.
- Submissions from the author are not considered for a period set by the editorial board according to the seriousness of the case.
- In serious cases, the author's institution is informed.
Plagiarism established after publication
- The article is retracted with a published retraction notice linked to it; the article stays in place, marked "RETRACTED" with the reason stated, and is not removed.
- The author's institution is informed.
- Submissions from the author are not considered for a period set by the editorial board.
In all cases the journal follows the COPE flowcharts, and the author is given the right to respond before any action. The types of correction and retraction are on the Appeals, Complaints and Corrections page.
