Artificial Intelligence Use Policy
The Journal of Future Studies – Sirte University (JFSS) recognizes the importance of artificial intelligence tools and generative artificial intelligence technologies in supporting certain stages of scholarly research and permits their responsible use, provided that such use does not conflict with academic integrity or research and publication ethics.
First: Authors’ Responsibility
Authors remain fully responsible for the content of manuscripts submitted to the journal, including the accuracy of information, data, analyses, conclusions, and references used, regardless of whether any artificial intelligence tools have been used.
The use of an artificial intelligence tool does not replace the author’s scholarly responsibility.
Second: Permitted Uses
Artificial intelligence tools may be used for certain supportive tasks, such as:
• Improving language and proofreading.
• Assisting in organizing ideas or text.
• Providing technical assistance in certain stages of data analysis or processing, where appropriate to the nature of the research.
• Assisting with tasks that do not replace the author’s scholarly responsibility.
Authors must review all outputs generated by such tools and verify their accuracy before using them.
Third: Disclosure of Artificial Intelligence Use
If an author makes substantial use of artificial intelligence tools in preparing the manuscript, analyzing data, or generating scholarly content, such use must be clearly disclosed in the manuscript, including the tool used and the nature of its use, where such use has an impact on the content or methodology of the work.
Fourth: Unacceptable Uses
Artificial intelligence must not be used in ways that result in:
• Fabricating data, results, or references.
• Falsifying or misrepresenting scholarly information.
• Presenting AI-generated text or ideas as the author’s original scholarly work without appropriate disclosure.
• Concealing sources of information or citing nonexistent references.
• Violating intellectual property rights or confidentiality.
• Entering confidential data, personal information, or unpublished materials into artificial intelligence tools in a manner that violates privacy or the rights of their owners.
Fifth: Artificial Intelligence and Authorship
Artificial intelligence tools cannot be considered authors or co-authors and cannot assume scholarly or legal responsibility for the research.
Full responsibility for the published work remains with the authors.
Sixth: Use of Artificial Intelligence by Reviewers and Editors
Reviewers and editors must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and the information contained therein.
Manuscripts, parts of manuscripts, or any confidential information associated with them must not be entered into publicly available artificial intelligence tools if doing so could disclose the content of the manuscript or compromise the confidentiality of the peer review process.
Artificial intelligence tools must not be used to make editorial decisions or to issue a final judgment regarding the acceptance or rejection of a manuscript.
The Editorial Board reserves the right to request clarification from authors regarding their use of artificial intelligence tools whenever necessary to verify academic integrity.
