Data Sharing Policy

Data Sharing Policy

The Journal of Future Studies – Sirte University (JFSS) encourages authors to make available the data and research materials underlying their findings whenever this is feasible and legally and ethically permissible. This promotes scientific transparency, facilitates the verification of research findings, and supports the reuse of data in scholarly research.

When sharing data, the following principles should be observed:

  1. Data must not contain any personal or identifying information that could reveal the identity of research participants.
  2. The names of participants and any other information that could directly or indirectly lead to their identification should be removed whenever necessary to protect privacy and confidentiality.
  3. Authors must comply with applicable legal and ethical requirements and intellectual property rights relating to the data.
  4. Data owned by another entity or subject to contractual or legal restrictions preventing its disclosure must not be shared, except to the extent permitted by the data owner or the relevant agreements.
  5. If the data cannot be made available or shared, the author may provide an explanation for its unavailability in the manuscript or in a dedicated Data Availability Statement.
  6. Where necessary, the Editorial Board may request information or documentation concerning the source of the data or the methods used to collect or process it in order to verify the integrity of the research, while respecting confidentiality and the rights of participants and other parties.

This policy is applied in accordance with the nature and field of each research study and shall not be interpreted as requiring authors to disclose data whose disclosure is prohibited by law, contractual agreements, or ethical considerations.
