Abstract

                  The researcher studied the psychological attitudes and their relationship to academic advising among students of the Faculty of Arts at Asmariya University in the city of Zliten. The study aimed to know the students’ attitudes towards academic advising in the college, and it also aimed to know whether there were statistically significant differences in their attitudes towards academic advising according to the variable of gender.  And the specialization variable. The size of the study sample was (216) male and female students, who were selected by a simple random method, in the academic year (2022, 2023). The researcher applied the study tool represented by the questionnaire, and some statistical methods were used, represented by frequencies and percentages.  And the Pearson correlation coefficient, the Spearman-Brown equation, the weighted mean and the percentage weight. The study reached a set of results, the most important of which is that the sample members’ attitude towards academic advising was positive. The results also showed that there are no statistically significant differences in the attitude of college students towards academic advising according to the variable Gender, and the specialization variable, which means that all students’ attitudes toward academic advising were positive.
