General Policies of the Legal Research Journal – University of Sirte

First: Open Access Policy

The Legal Research Journal at the University of Sirte adopts an open access system, whereby all accepted scientific research is published immediately on the journal’s website, ensuring its availability to researchers and those interested in legal affairs without any restrictions.

The journal also confirms that all issues are available for free download.

Second: Peer Review Policy (Scientific Arbitration)

The journal adopts a Double-Blind Peer Review system, whereby:

       o The identity of the author is not disclosed to the reviewer, and the identity of the reviewer is not disclosed to the author.

       o Research papers are referred to specialized reviewers in various branches of law.

       o Papers are evaluated based on criteria including:

              o Scientific originality

              o Soundness of legal methodology

             o Accuracy of analysis and reasoning

             o Contribution to the legal field

Peer review decisions are as follows:

      o Acceptance as is

      o Acceptance with minor revisions

      o Reconsideration after major revisions

      o Rejection

Third: Publication Rights Policy

  • The journal retains the right to publish accepted papers within its issues.
  • Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been previously published.
  • Papers may not be republished elsewhere without official approval from the journal.
  • The author bears sole responsibility for the opinions expressed in the research.

Fourth: Authorship Policy

Authors are required to:

  • Include only the names of individuals who have made a genuine contribution to the research.
  • Arrange authors’ names according to the extent of their scientific contribution.
  • Avoid adding names unrelated to the research.
  • Designate a corresponding author responsible for communication with the journal.

Fifth: Plagiarism and Retraction Policy

The journal is committed to combating plagiarism in all its forms:

  • All submissions undergo an initial screening to verify originality.
  • Any paper found to contain plagiarism will be rejected.
  • If plagiarism is discovered after publication:
  • The paper will be formally withdrawn.
  • A Retraction notice will be issued.
  • Administrative measures will be taken against the author.

Sixth: Conflict of Interest Policy

  • The journal requires all parties (authors, reviewers, and editors) to disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect the integrity of the evaluation process. Additionally:
  • The use of unpublished information for personal benefit is prohibited.
  • All data and research are treated with strict confidentiality.
  • Seventh: Archiving and Accessibility Policy
  • The journal allows authors to archive their published papers on personal or institutional websites.

o Proper citation of the original publication in the journal is required.

o The journal does not impose any embargo period on re-access or redistribution.

 Eighth: Scope of Publication Policy

The journal publishes:

  • Specialized legal research and studies.
  • Papers in both Arabic and English.
  • Studies that contribute to the development of legal thought and serve society.

Ninth: Legal and Scientific Responsibility

  • The opinions expressed in the research reflect the views of their authors.
  • The journal and its editorial board bear no legal responsibility for the content of the papers.
  • The author is responsible for the accuracy of the information and results presented.
