Submission Guidelines

The Legal Research Journal welcomes the publication of research papers and scientific studies in all legal disciplines, in both Arabic and English, submitted by researchers and academics from scientific and academic institutions, after undergoing the review process in accordance with the following regulations:

  1. The submitted research must demonstrate originality, linguistic accuracy, proper style, and sound scientific methodology, and must comply with recognized standards and principles of rigorous academic research.
  2. The research must not be derived from any previous academic work (book, thesis, dissertation, or paper), nor should it have been previously published or presented at any conference or scientific seminar.
  3. The overall similarity (plagiarism) index must not exceed 25% of the total word count of the research, according to the Turnitin plagiarism detection tool. Additionally, the use of artificial intelligence tools in writing the research must not exceed 25%.
  4. The researcher must create an account on the journal’s website, complete the required forms, and upload the research. If unable to do so, the researcher may send an electronic copy in Word format (2016 version or later), along with another copy in PDF format via the journal’s website or email.

    The first page of the research must include full details of the author(s) and their affiliations, including: name, academic degree, specialization, full institutional affiliation, and email address.
  6. The research must include an abstract and five keywords in both Arabic and English, placed at the beginning of the paper. Machine translation must not be used for the English abstract, and each abstract must not exceed 200 words.
  7. The research must be no less than 5,000 words and no more than 10,000 words.
  8. A brief curriculum vitae (CV) of the researcher must be attached with the first submission.
  9. The research margins must be formatted وفق the publication template available on the journal’s website.
  10. The main title of the research must be centered on the page, using Traditional Arabic font, size 16, bold.
  11. The name(s) of the author(s) must appear مباشرة below the title, including institutional affiliation and email, centered on the page, in Traditional Arabic font, size 12, bold.
  12. Main headings in the research must be written in Traditional Arabic font, size 14, bold; subheadings should follow the same font and size (14 bold).
  13. For Arabic research, the font must be Traditional Arabic, size 14 (regular); for English research, Times New Roman, size 12, with line spacing set at 1 cm.
  14. Tables must be clearly formatted, numbered sequentially (with numbering placed above the table), using Traditional Arabic font, and arranged according to their order in the text. Each table must have a title and be referenced accordingly in the text. No coloring should be used unless required by the study.
  15. Figures must be clearly drawn, numbered sequentially (with numbering above the figure), using Traditional Arabic font, and arranged according to their appearance in the text. Each figure must have a clear and precise title and be referenced accordingly. Non-compliant figures will not be accepted.
  16. Equations must be numbered sequentially according to their order in the text, with the number clearly indicated next to each equation.
  17. Photographs included in the research must be scanned clearly using a scanner, accurately represent their content, be numbered, and provided with clear and precise titles above them.
  18. References must be cited وفق the American Psychological Association (APA) style:
  • In-text citations should include the author’s surname and publication year in parentheses at first mention; subsequent mentions may include only the surname and year. In the case of direct quotations, the page number must also be included.
  • All references cited in the text must be listed in the reference list at the end of the paper (before appendices, if any), arranged alphabetically, starting with Arabic references followed by foreign references, without numbering, as follows:

    A. Books:
    Author’s surname followed by the rest of the name (year), book title, editor/translator (if any), edition number, publisher, place of publication.

    B. Journal Articles:
    Author’s surname followed by the rest of the name (year or n.d. if unavailable), title of the article in quotation marks, journal name, issuing body, country of publication, volume number, issue number.

    C. Theses and Dissertations:
    Author’s surname followed by the rest of the name (year), title of the thesis/dissertation, name of the awarding university.

    D. Online Sources:
    Author’s surname followed by the rest of the name (year), title of the work, website name and link, date of access.
