The reality of applying governance principles in the Marj Municipal Council

Abstract
The current study aims to identify the level of governance principles application in Al-Marj city's municipal council, from the personnel's perspective, according to the following dimensions: working through strategic vision, commitment of integrity and transparency, law respect, participation, and response).
Therefore, the study adopted a case study method, which is proper for studying a phenomenon in depth. It also utilized a questionnaire as a tool of gathering data.
The study concluded that the level of applying governance principles in Al-Marj city' municipal council was high. It also showed that the level of applying response principle was the foremost governance principle, and high level of application. However, working by strategic vision was the least principle of governance, and high level of application. On the other hand, there were significant differences in the means of practicing governance principles among the study subjects.
