The role of economic dimensions of national security in combating terrorism

This paper seeks to address the relationship between the economic dimensions and development policies and their relationship to the phenomenon of the spread and growth of terrorist organizations and their threat to security and peace in the Arab and Islamic worlds, especially in Libya. This paper starts from its approach to this relationship by studying the roots and causes of the emergence of terrorism, its growth, and its threat to the security and stability of the country; these reasons revolve around poverty and corruption, which motivate terrorism by using people’s suffering to justify violence directed at the authorities. On the other hand, instability and conflicts constitute suitable conditions for the emergence and effective activity of terrorism. In another part, this paper presents the economic dimension of national security and its role in combating and confronting terrorism and removing the dangers that threaten the country’s security. This is achieved by achieving sustainable development and the resulting improvement of the lives of individuals and raising their standard of living, which enhances their submission to the law and authority and their rejection of ideas. Extreme. The study concludes that sustainable development, which includes improving the economy, developing infrastructure, improving services, and raising the standard of living of individuals; all of these policies undoubtedly help in confronting terrorism and work to limit its spread and undermine its activity, thus protecting national security from this danger.
