Journal History

The Sirte University Journal of Humanities(SUJH) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by Sirte University, Libya, biannually in June and December. Headquartered at Sirte University, Sirte City, Libya, its origins date back to 1997 when it was established under the name “The Scientific Journal of Al-Tahadi University.” In 2007, the name was changed to “Al-Tahadi University Scientific Journal.” In 2014, the journal was renamed the “Sirte University Scientific Journal.” Until 2020, the journal published scientific research in two parts: one for Applied Sciences and another for Humanities and Social Sciences. In 2021, the journal was restructured into two separate journals: one for Applied Sciences, retaining the name “Sirte University Scientific Journal,” and a second, separate journal for humanities fields under the current title, “Sirte University Journal of Humanities (SUJH).” To date, the journal has published twenty-eight volumes containing over two hundred and fifty research papers across various humanities and social sciences fields.

SUJH is dedicated to excellence in disseminating scientific output based on rigorous methodological standards and academic research ethics,contributing to the enrichment of specialized knowledge across all humanities fields with precision, credibility, and objectivity. It aims to advance the level of scientific research in collaboration with relevant specialized scientific bodies and institutions worldwide, keep pace with scientific and technological developments to contribute to local community development, increase scientific output, publish theoretical and applied studies to achieve national leadership, and provide opportunities for creativity and excellence for faculty members and academics.

Journal Scope

SUJH is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published biannually by Sirte University.It is dedicated to publishing original scientific research and studies in the humanities that have not been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere. The journal accepts articles in both Arabic and English.

• Papers are published upon successful completion of the peer review process. Evaluation is conducted confidentially by at least two reviewers.
• The scientific opinions expressed in published papers are solely those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of the journal.

• To address various local and regional issues in the humanities and social sciences through scientific research.
• To provide opportunities for objective scientific evaluation of research through peer review by specialized experts.
