The Impact of Sustainable Leadership on Investment in Human Capital at Libyan Airlines Operating in Benghazi: The Mediating Role of Organizational Ambidexterity

The study aims to identify the impact of organizational ambidexterity as a mediating variable in the relationship between sustainable leadership and investment in human capital within Libyan airlines operating in the city of Benghazi. To achieve the study’s objectives, a descriptive correlational methodology was followed, and a questionnaire was used for data collection which was developed and confirmed its reliability and validity coefficient. The SPSS software was used, along with descriptive and inferential statistical methods, to achieve the study's aims. Furthermore, the Andrew F. Hayes model was adopted through the PROCESS Procedure for SPSS Version 4.2 to test the mediation hypothesis. The study concluded that the practice of sustainable leadership, investment in human capital, and organizational ambidexterity were all came at a high level. Additionally, the study showed that sustainable leadership and organizational ambidexterity both affect investment in human capital, with the effect of sustainable leadership being greater than that of organizational agility. The study also revealed that organizational ambidexterity partially mediates the relationship between sustainable leadership and investment in human capital. Finally, the study provided a set of recommendations aimed at enhancing sustainable leadership, strengthening organizational ambidexterity, and supporting investment in human capital within the airlines under study
