Obstacles to using electronic payment cards in commercial banks
Abstract
The study aimed to know the difficulties facing the consumer in using the electronic payment card in the Libyan market and commercial banks, in addition to knowing the extent of the absence of banking awareness of the use of electronic payment cards in Libyan commercial banks. The descriptive analytical approach through a field study on the users of electronic cards in the Bank of Commerce and Development Ajdabiya, and the study found that the users of these cards find it difficult to use them because of the preference for cash payment in most commercial transactions over the rest of the payment methods and the fear of technologies and the lack of familiarity with them and the lack of availability Money at the level of automated dispensers, in addition to the frequent interruptions of the communications network, and it also concluded that there is an absence of banking awareness of the use of electronic payment cards due to several reasons, the most important of which is the ease of losing the card due to its small size and fear of misuse of the card in addition to the weakness of media and publicity regarding electronic payment methods The study recommended the need to pay attention to awareness The banking and credit cards are used by using electronic payment cards in several areas, especially transactions with the state, the need to provide government support and the provision of the infrastructure for the communications network, in addition to enacting laws and legislation that regulate and guarantee electronic banking operations.
