Foreign political situation of the Carolingian kingdom (752-768 AD)

Abstract

This research dealt with the foreign policy situation of the Carolingian Queen (752-768 AD), which is concerned with the period of King Pepin's rule, and the research was divided into an introduction, three topics, and a conclusion.
The introduction dealt with a simplified explanation of the content of the research, in addition to the importance of the topic and its most prominent objectives, in addition to dividing it into three elements and a conclusion that included the most important results.
The first element was entitled: (Foreign Policy with the Lombards), as this chapter showed the policy of King Pepin the Short with the Lombards in Italy, where this element entered into a conflict with the papacy, which was in alliance with King Pepin the Short, which was nothing but that He intervened in favor of the papacy when the leader of the Lombards called "Aistulf" sought to seize the property and lands of the papacy, forcing him to fight them and was able to subdue the Lombards and force them to recognize his sovereignty over them.
The second element was included under the title: (Foreign Policy with the Byzantine Empire and the Bavarians). This element consisted of two parts. They are Byzantium and Bavarian Pavier, due to the lack of information in them, so I included them in one topic, and with regard to the Byzantine Empire, the diplomacy of these relations was evident in the exchange of embassies and their struggle over Italy. As for the Bavarians, this element touched on the beginnings of Germanic dominion under the leadership of Pepin the Short over the region of Bavaria until independence was declared in the year 763 AD.
The third element dealt with: (Relations with Muslims), which included their relations with Muslims in the countries of Andalusia and the attempt to seize Tarriot, in addition to relations with the Muslims of the East, and we mean here the Abbasid caliphate in Baghdad, especially during the era of Abi Jaafar al-Mansur, where he was keen to show that it prevailed. Peace and exchange of embassies between the two sides.
